SYDNEY: LG Electronics has announced the appointment of a new marketing director and corporate marketing manager.

David Brand, former marketing director at beverage distributor Maxxium Australia, will take over as LG’s marketing director, while former Makita Power Tools marketing manager Mark Nesci will become corporate marketing manager.

The two take over from former marketing manager Paul Jenkins, who left the company in November last year and whose position was split to create the two new roles.

Prior to Maxxium, Brand was marketing director at Burger King Asia Pacific and marketing director of Tourism Tasmania.

Brand will supervise day-to-day operation of the marketing unit and assume direct responsibility for advertising agency management and media.

Nesci has over 12 years experience. Prior to Makita, where he was marketing manager at Artline and Head Sports.

Nesci will look after LG’s customer insight program, customer relationships management platform, sponsorships and all direct communication aspects including website, shop front and dealer communication.

Managing director Daniel Shin said the two appointments were ‘strategic positions’ within LG’s new marketing structure.

“These appointments come at a pivotal time in the company’s history – our second decade in the Australian market. Both individuals posses the collective mix of skills, broad ranging experience and motivation to drive the future growth of LG.”
