SYDNEY: Samsung, the number two brand in the Australian mp3 market behind Apple, has launched its new flagship player just in time for Christmas – the flash-based Samsung P2.

Available in 2GB (RRP $269), 4GB (RRP $299) and 8GB (RRP $369) sizes, the P2 sits at the top end of Samsung’s mp3 range due to its advanced features, such its three-inch widescreen LCD for video playback and touchscreen control and Bluetooth for wireless headphones.

Other features include FM radio, jpeg photo playback and drag-and-drop file transfer.

“In line with the trend of other portable digital devices, consumers are demanding more and more from their mp3 player in terms of features and quality.” said Samsung Electronics Australia product manager – mp3, Lisa Findlay.

“The Samsung P2 has it all – excellent sound and video quality, unique features, stunning design and innovative technology. It’s the mp3 player for the consumer that wants the very best.”

Samsung has also launched the new S5 and T10 players, the former featuring a built-in slide-out stereo speaker and the latter featuring Bluetooth. Both models are available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB and area available now.
