SYDNEY: Hewlett Packard has promoted Christoph Schell to be the vice president for the Imaging and Printing Group Asia-Pacific and Japan, effective 1 January 2008 and is yet to announce Schell’s replacement for the Australia and New Zealand.

Schell is to relocate to Singapore to be responsible for all Asia-Pacific markets. In a statement from Hewlett Packard it was explained that Schell is to assume responsibility for the consumer IPG category across all products, solutions and market strategies. He will also oversee the HP consumer sales force across Asia Pacific and Japan, for all HP consumer products in the Imaging and Printing Group and the Personal Systems Group.

The company also stated that Schell and his leadership team at HP IPG South Pacific (Australia and New Zealand) will ensure there is a smooth transition and they are seeking to appoint Schell’s successor for the Australia/New Zealand market.
