SYDNEY: Nespresso continues its relationship with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) during October by auctioning a Nespresso coffee machine signed by Hollywood star George Clooney to raise funds for breast cancer research.
According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare and National Breast Cancer Centre, this disease affects over 13,000 Australian women every year. Despite medical advances, one in eight Australian women will be diagnosed with the disease by the age of 85.
All money raised from the online auction at www.nespresso.com.au will go directly toward funding the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s mission to find the causes and cure for the disease. In addition to the auction, $30 from every coffee machine sold directly through Nespresso boutiques or from the Nespresso website during the month of October will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The George Clooney signed Nespresso machine goes up for auction on 12 October 2007 and concludes on Pink Ribbon Day, 22 October, 2007.
Sue Murray, CEO of the National Breast Cancer Foundation welcomed the George Clooney online auction and the Pink Ribbon Breakfast initiatives.
“We are thrilled to be working with Nespresso on such an exciting fund-raising campaign, and we hope these initiatives build even greater awareness around breast cancer, and raise further funds for research into the disease.”
