SYDNEY: Panasonic has launched a sales incentive program for retailers of its Viera flat panel TVs for the chance to win one in 50 trips to the 2008 Melbourne Formula One Grand Prix.

The national program, nicknamed Panasonic Viera 100, aims at fostering retail sales of the new HD Panasonic Viera technology through an exclusive competition, while continuing a long company association with the Formula One event.

The new Panasonic Viera flat panels released in May this year include four new plasma TVs – including two 50-inch plasmas (a deluxe model with a silver control panel and pedestal, and a stylish black model) and two 42-inch plasmas, as well as three new LCD models, including two 32-inch TVs.

Retailers who enter the program earn points for in-store sales of Viera units between October 1 and December 31. Points are tallied and prizes are awarded for those clocking up outstanding sales.

The competition is also designed to educate retailers about the benefits of the Viera technology, with an additional opportunity to earn points by answering three questions, each week.

Those just missing out on the ultimate racing holiday, will win one of 50 Panasonic F1 radio control cars – 15 of these, will also win a Panasonic hybrid SDR-H20 HDD/SD 30 GB video cameras.

An additional 35 retailers have a choice of either a Panasonic DMR-EX77 DVD recorder or a DMC-TZ3-K Panasonic digital still camera.

Panasonic has been the title sponsor for the Toyota F1 project providing technology for automotive electronics, AV, IT and Telecommunications, since Toyota entered the competition in 2002.
