SYDNEY: Samsung Electronics Australia has appointed Jesse James to be its in-house public relations manager, a return for James to a role with Samsung after previously working for the company’s external PR agency, Edelman.

James has seven years public relations experience spanning both agency and in-house, and brings with her four years specialist consumer electronics knowledge.

This includes five years at Edelman, Samsung’s current PR agency, working on Samsung and other consumer technology accounts.

“As Samsung’s Australian business continues to grow, we must maintain a powerful and consistent presence as market leader throughout a number of key segments,” said Samsung Electronics Australia general manager – corporate marketing, Kurt Jovais.

“Jesse’s prior working knowledge of Samsung combined with her strong media relationships and agency experience, meant that she was at the top of my list for this role.”

According to Samsung, Jesse will seek to grow the company’s share of voice by building relationships with all key stakeholder groups and managing a variety of public relations plans.

“I am thrilled at the opportunity to return to the industry as Samsung’s in-house PR manager,” said James.

“I look forward to taking on the challenge of directing innovative PR vehicles to communicate Samsung’s leading product range, technology innovations and growing market share to maximise greater public awareness and support.”
