SYDNEY: Hitachi Australia today announced the launch of a website that enables students at schools using Hitachi Interactive products to communicate in real-time with students at other schools around the world.

Branded hitachi-twinning.com, the website, or twinning portal, is dedicated to finding and matching partner schools for learning collaboration.

“Schools simply logon to the site and complete a short online questionnaire to establish their twining objectives and they are matched with a suitable partner,” the company said in a statement to the press.

Hitachi also announced today the appointment of James Burke in the role of sales executive — specialist channel.

Burke’s new responsibilities include driving awareness of the company’s educational and business solutions. Burke transferred from the UK where he worked for Hitachi Interactive Solutions selling solutions into the public and educations sectors.
