SYDNEY: Westmead resident, Zhi Yuan Sun, is the latest Bing Lee customer to walk away with $5000 cash as part of Bing Lee’s $50,000 Cash Bonanza promotion.

Zhi, a 43-year-old family-man and regular Bing Lee shopper, entered the competition after purchasing a microwave from the Bing Lee Merrylands store.

According to Bing Lee, Zhi had forgotten all about the competition until he received the winning call from the retailer’s Sydney head office.

“I didn’t think I was going to win. When they called me and told me I won $5,000, I thought they were joking,” Zhi told Bing Lee.

Zhi said he is a frequent shopper at Bing Lee Merrylands and entered the competition at the suggestion of store staff.

“I enjoy shopping at the Bing Lee Merrylands store. The staff are very helpful and speak my language, which makes buying things so much easier,” he said.

Bing Lee said Zhi plans to head back to the Merrylands store in the next few weeks to treat himself to a new TV with his winnings.

Bing Lee general manager, Phil Moujaes, said that he was pleased the competition was able to reward a loyal customer.

“Bing Lee’s $50,000 Shopping Bonanza is proving to be our most successful competition to date. It is a great way to thank our customers for their loyalty and support.”

The Bing Lee $50,000 Shopping Bonanza competition celebrates the retailer’s 50th birthday and will run every month until December 31, 2007.

The next prize will be drawn in early October and the winner will be announced on Bing Lee’s website, www.binglee.com.au.
