SYDNEY: SanDisk has launched its challenger to Apple’s iPod Shuffle in the mp3 market, the SanDisk Sansa Clip, which will be sold in 1GB and 2GB capacites.

Although similar in size to the iPod Shuffle, the Sansa Clip has additional features including FM radio, OLED screen and a built-in microphone for voice recording.

The model is named for the integrated belt clip, which allows the user to use the player while jogging or traveling.
SanDisk will launch two models, a 1GB (RRP $79) and a 2GB (RRP $119), both with a rechargeable battery with up to 15 hours life.

“Don’t let the Sansa Clip’s size fool you,” said SanDisk retail product marketing manager for the Sansa Clip, Keith Washo.

“This tiny player packs a powerful, feature-rich punch. We’re excited to bring music lovers a new, cool-looking player with great sound and audio offerings in a body that’s smaller than a match box.
