SYDNEY: Australian consumer electronics and appliance company, Digital Electronics Corporation Australia Pty Ltd (DECA) has joined forces with Dutch designer, Marcel Wanders, to introduce a new electronic furniture range to Domayne stores and selected Harvey Norman outlets.

Available this September, DECA’s new range of electronic furniture, designed by iconic Dutch designer, Marcel Wanders, allows consumers to have technologically advanced, designer products in their homes, without having any unattractive wires or cords present.

“This is the first truly designer range that combines home entertainment, technology, design and furnishings in the Australian market,” said DECA managing director, Nihal Gupta.

“This is simply beautiful technology designed to blend into your lifestyle and create a designer artistic theme. It is fresh and innovative. We call it Living Electronics,” Gupta said.

The full range will include the Theatre (RRP $1,599), a wooden side-table with an integrated home cinema set including DVD player and full 5.1 surround speaker system; the Pandora (RRP $899), a small wooden side-table with an integrated woofer, amplifier and transmitter, accompanied by two wireless speakers to generate 2.1 stereo sound; and the Domino (RRP $699), a combination of two thin speakers where the audio signal can be received using wireless transmitters or by use of normal audio cables.

Also to be made available is a series of products finished in a matte black reptile design, including the Carrie (RRP $199), a design-conscious USB drive which stores up to 2GB; the Crystal (RRP $599), a digital photoframe with a 7-inch TFT screen, USB, MS, SD MMC memory card input, mp3, mp4 and jpeg support as well as built in speakers and remote control; the Egg (RRP $399), small, wireless speakers which project sound upwards; and the Mathilda and Merlin (RRP $399), small antenna/transmitters that send music wirelessly from your mp3 player or your laptop to your speaker system.

Also to grace the new Deca range is a unique microwave with integrated TFT screen and DVD player, known as Wave TV (RRP $1,999).

DECA by Marcel Wanders will be available from all Domayne stores as well as selected Harvey Norman Stores including Fortitude Valley and Broadway on the Mall, Queen St in Brisbane; QV in Melbourne; City Cross in Adelaide; and Peppermint Grove in Perth.
