SYDNEY: Pebble Electronics, distributors of Conia and Hicon products, is gearing up for their national conference next weekend, to be held at Peppers Moonah Links Resort, on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, where they will release three new plasma TVs.

Pebble General Manager, Nicholas Fry, explained that the venue was specifically chosen for its association with Pebble’s philosophy of the “constant pursuit of quality and perfection.”

“Moonah Links is a world-class resort, and host of the Australian Open Golf tournament,” said Fry.

“The Australian Open is considered by many, including six-time winner Jack Nicklaus, to be the unofficial ‘5th major’, and it’s only the quality of a magnificent golf course and resort like Moonah Links which could cater for such a prestigious event.

“In our day to day operations at Pebble we uphold the virtues of the Australian Open — quality, history, prestige and honour. We offer a quality range of products. We are proud of our 11-year history as an Australian owned company. We feel that our outstanding range of products, particularly our flat panel range of LCD and Plasma TV’s, offers the consumer a prestigious purchase without the exorbitant price tag. And we’re honoured to have recently exceeded a 10 per cent market share in LCD TV’s. So as we searched for the ideal venue for our conference we decided Moonah Links was perfect.”

Fry went on to explain that this conference will have more staff than any other in Pebble’s 11 year history, with over 25 of Pebbles sales, service and product managers planning to attend, along with senior management and administration staff.

“Another reason for choosing a world-class venue like Moonah Links is to introduce a vast number of our new Pebble sales staff to our company and our company’s philosophy. We’ve recently expanded our sales force by introducing eight new sales staff nationally and this conference is our chance for us all to get together, exchange ideas and information, and plan for what promises to be a busy and robust period ahead.

“Over Friday, Saturday and Sunday we plan to finalise our sales and marketing forecasts and plans for the August to January period. We’ll also release three new Plasma TV’s to our line up, and with a bit of luck we might even get to play nine holes on Sunday afternoon, time permitting!”

Fry’s long term vision is for Conia to become Australia’s fifth major brand.

“The year 2007 has been a watershed year for Pebble. The impact our new range of LCD and Plasma TV’s has been sensational, and along with our traditionally strong performing categories such as CRT TVs, DVD players, DVD recorders, refrigeration and air conditioning, we’ve grown significantly in the market.

“In some major categories we’ve attained a top five market position and in time people will consider Conia products to be the ‘5th major’.”
