SYDNEY: The recent Sunbeam annual sales conference gala dinner has seen both long-serving Queensland sales manager, Ray Kemp, acknowledged for 40 years of service and the WA sales team being awared the company’s annual sales shield.
At the dinner held at Doltone House in Sydney recently, Sunbeam CEO, Jonathan Lord praised Kemp for his service to Sunbeam before more than 80 staff members from Australia and New Zealand.
“Ray is an important part of the history of Sunbeam. He has made a significant contribution not just to our growth, but to the industry," he said.
“I’ve had a great working relationship with Sunbeam,” said Kemp.
“Sunbeam has a reputation for staff staying long-term and I believe that’s due to a passion for excellence and working with a brand name that is trusted by consumers.”
Throughout his time at Sunbeam, Kemp has seen many changes in the industry.
“Retailing today is vastly different to when I started out in 1967. Extended hours and the change to seven days trading have had a huge impact.
“A number of Sunbeam launches have also played a big part in sales growth and lifestyle changes,” Kemp said.
“The introduction of the 12 month replacement warranty saw ongoing sales growth and three product launches particularly standout – the Vertical Grill in the 70s, the Express Kettle and Selectronic Iron in the 80s really changed the way consumers lived.”
At the conference, Sunbeam’s West Australian team, led by state sales manager, Dale Johnston, was awarded for winning the company’s annual sales shield. The team received their award from Sunbeam CEO, Jonathan Lord and sales director, Paul Cross.
“This year’s winning state, Western Australia, has been the winner seven times since 1993 — when the parameters were modified. We are extremely proud of our entire sales force. They are great ambassadors for the Sunbeam brand,” said Lord.
