SYDNEY: Centrex (Aust) Pty Ltd, distributors of audio visual, laundry and kitchen appliances has put the business into voluntary liquidation and all enquiries to the company’s Sydney office are being redirected to accountancy firm Jirsch Sutherland.

Current.com.au contacted Jirsch Sutherland for comment and a staff member advised that Centrex Australia had not become bankrupt, that often companies who no longer want to trade announce voluntary liquidation and that Centrex were still considering their options.

Centrex (Aust) Pty Ltd was formed in February 2002 in New South Wales, Australia. The company state that they sell televisions, DVDs, digital set top boxes, washing machines, air conditioning , microwave ovens, refrigerators and freezers and a variety of smaller electronic appliances.

On the company website Centrex state that they had representatives in Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and New South Wales and were represented in Queensland by Terry Hayes Agencies Pty. Ltd.

Centrex also stated on their website that their products were available from The Good Guys, Betta Electrical, Chandlers, Allens Homemakers, Seconds World and Harris Scarfe.
