SYDNEY: Omega Appliances has unveiled its brand new 350 square metre showroom, showcasing hundreds of appliances under both the Smeg and Omega brands to the public and the trade.

Located in Sydney at 2-8 Baker Street, Botany, the open-plan showroom is divided into two distinct areas housing both display and working models of the complete range of ovens, cooktops, uprights, dishwashers, rangehoods, refrigerators and sinks by both Smeg and Omega.

“We are getting the message out there that it really is in the interests of retailers to send their customers to our showroom to experience the full capabilities of these great products. It really shows the consumer what they can achieve in the kitchen and we also show them how to achieve it,” said Omega national marketing manager, Jimmy Kalotheos.

“We have allocated significant funds to advertise this showroom and ads are appearing on radio stations, in the Domain section of the Sydney Morning Herald and even the Sydney magazine.”

The showroom will also feature Anne Love, a former commercial chef and now Smeg personal chef, on a daily basis, preparing a variety of sweet and savoury dishes for consumers to taste and also watch being prepared.

Appliance demonstrations, cooking classes, recipe development skills, fresh coffee and food samplings are also made available to all visitors to the showroom, with the aim to create a memorable and educational experience for consumers, architects, interior designers and the media.

There is also an area dedicated to Omega laundry products and seasonal products such as ceiling fans and heaters.

The company has allegedly received a surge of interest from both retailers and architects/designers and has now embarked on a three month intensive print and radio campaign to notify consumers of this new tool in appliance selection.
