Hargreaves promoted to new GM role at Sony Australia

SYDNEY: Sony Australia has promoted national sales manager, David Hargreaves, to the new role of general manager – consumer AV/IT, effective immediately.

Hargreaves has been with Sony Australia for 21 years and will continue to report to managing director, Carl Rose, in the new role. He is now has responsibile for a national team of 70 staff.

“After more than two decades with Sony Australia, the company still offers exciting challenges. I am looking forward to leading the sales team to create an even better experience for our consumers, by working closely with our retail partners,” said Hargreaves.

According to Sony, Hargreaves’ promotion reflects Sony Australia’s commitment to streamlining retail, distribution and direct sales channels into a single, focused sales function.

“David recently marked a milestone of 21 years of service with Sony Australia,” Rose said.

“This experience of our business, combined with his commitment to and knowledge of the industry, put David in the ideal position to lead an invigorated sales team to deliver true value for our retail partners.”
