SYDNEY: Westinghouse today announced an August release of six new compact top mounted fridge models ranging from 200 to 340 litres, with multiple storage configurations, a choice of classic white or pacific silver finish and a RRP price range from $619 to $1009.

To provide more options for consumers with minimal living space in small apartments, the new compact Westinghouse range allows the homeowner to customise their storage space. For example, the ice drawer can be removed to make additional room in the freezer, the spillsafe glass shelves can be moved to fit a case of beer and the door bins can be adjusted to make room for tall bottles.

“At Westinghouse we have invested a lot of resources into understanding what customers truly need and discovered that the most fridges of this capacity are forcing consumers to compromise, sacrificing benefits for size,” explained Michael Locke, senior brand manager for Westinghouse and Simpson Refrigeration.

“While these fridges are compact, there is no compromise in the features and flexibility they provide, they are ideal for those who live in a smaller households or in apartments and desire an appliance they can trust.”

Other removable storage features in the range include a bottle caddy (in selected models), chiller drawer, door safe, door bins, egg tray and bag hooks.

The freezers have a ‘twist & serve’ unit for dispensing ice and a meat draw to keep items separate in the freezer — both can be removed to store large items if required.

In addition, Westinghouse’s ‘Deo Fresh’ system uses dual deodorisers in the fridge and freezer to attract and absorb odours, and combines with the odour control bins in the fridge to minimise the transfer of flavours from strong foods. Also, the Multi Airflow Cooling System promotes constant air circulation to maintain even temperatures throughout fridge and freezer.
