SYDNEY: Panasonic is offering retail floor staff the chance to win one of three trips to France to see the Wallabies at the Rugby World in October – the major prize in the company’s 2007 Viera trade promotion which will reward sales staff for selling Viera TVs.

Running from 28 May to 31 July, the promotion will see floor staff who register online awarded with points for each Viera LCD or plasma TV they sell with top-ranking participants winning a Viera TV, camcorder or portable DVD player.

The prize pool includes 10 first prizes of a 50-inch Viera plasma TV (TH-50PX70A); 100 second prizes of a Panasonic SDR-H250 camcorder; and 100 third prizes of a DVD-LS80 portable DVD player.

Three registered sales staff will also be selected in a ‘chance to win’ draw to receive a trip for two to see the Wallabies play in France which will also include tours such as wine tasting in the Champagne region.

“As the Australian Rugby Union’s exclusive sponsor in the audiovisual products category, it’s great to be able to offer the trip of a lifetime to rugby fans,” said Panasonic director – consumer electronics, Paul Reid.

Panasonic has also launched its ‘Countdown to Sports Heaven’ consumer promotion for its Viera range, which is also built around the upcoming 2007 Rugby World Cup.

Every consumer who purchases a Viera TV during June and July can enter the draw to win a return trip for two to see the Wallabies play in France, valued at $26,000, plus the winner’s choice to attend one of the following events – the Beijing Olympics, the FA Cup at Wembley, the Brazilian Grand Prix, or the Billabong Pipeline Masters, Hawaii.

To enter the prize draw, purchasers need to register via SMS or online for a unique code that gives them access to the Countdown to Sports Heaven competition page at www.panasonic.com.au.

All consumers who enter the draw will receive a gift with purchase – a Wallabies pack including a backpack, collector’s rugby ball and cap – and go into the running to win one of 61 daily prize draws of a Panasonic DMC-FX12 digital still camera.

“Panasonic will highlight the promotion with in-store point of sale material including shelf talkers and counter cards, and on the company’s website,” said the company in a statement today.
