SYDNEY: Hewlett Packard (HP) today launched a new series of ‘touch enabled’ consumer desktop and notebook PCs, including the TouchSmart IQ770 PC with in-home photo kiosk functionality.
“HP is putting its stamp on innovation leadership with the launch of iconic product design and new touch enabled personal computing devices,” said HP South Pacific head of consumer business, Guyon Collins.
“This breakthrough range of home entertainment desktop and notebook PCs represents another significant step by HP towards delivering its vision of a digitally connected home.”
The TouchSmart IQ770 (RRP $3,699) is an all-in-one, Windows Vista compatible, touch screen PC which can provide instant access to family schedules, television, music and a built-in photo kiosk designed to make printing digital family photos easy.
“Iconic in design, the HP TouchSmart supports easy family communication through calendaring, messaging, entertainment, music and television,” said HP Australia market development manager – consumer desktop PCs, Manpal Jagpal.
“Delivering a stunning visual experience, the TouchSmart PC provides everyday functionality for the family and is best placed in common living areas such as the living room, family room or kitchen.”
Also released was the HP Pavilion TX1000 touch enabled entertainment notebook (RRP $2,299), featuring a ‘twist n touch’ screen which enables users to convert the standard notebook form into a tablet-style touch screen PC by rotating the display panel 180 degrees.

“With its inviting and intuitive ‘twist n touch’ screen display, consumers will experience the best in mobile entertainment computing and have the ability to remain connected in every aspect of their life.”
The new HP ‘touch enabled’ PCs are available now through Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, the Good Guys, Retravision and PC specialists.
