MELBOURNE: Swiss sink specialist, Franke, has appointed Gerard Gill as national sales manager after working in various sales roles with the company over the last six years.
Since joining Franke in April 2001, Gill has worked as a senior sales representative, sales manager and most recently regional sales manager- New South Wales and Queensland based in Sydney. Prior to joining Franke, Gill worked at Sampford & Staff for six years.
Gill reports to Franke managing director, James Smith, who has took over from Peter Handke earlier this year. Smith was previously managing director of Carron Phoenix in Scotland and prior to this was the managing director of Franke in China. Carron Phoenix is a division of Franke and the world’s largest manufacturer of granite sinks.
"Franke aims to be the leading kitchen systems supplier in Australia," Gill said.
"Retailers like Harvey Norman are increasingly looking at sinks as taps as an opportunity to sell a cooking package in the same way they sell up browngoods."
Franke Australia has recently moved from its Mt Waverly premises to a new 6,000 square metre showroom and warehouse on Ferntree Gully Road in Scoresby.
