MELBOURNE: The Good Guys general manager – merchandise – home appliances, Wayne Jennings, has been awarded the annual Warwick Shedden memorial trophy at the Bulky Goods Retailers Association quartely forum in Melbourne yesterday.

“As a long-standing member and committee member, Wayne has played an important role in the growth of the Bulky Goods Retailers Association,” said BGRA president Ian Robinson at the presentation.

“Wayne’s contribution and dedication to the Association has helped us become a significant force in the retail, planning and development industries today.”

The Warwick Shedden memorial trophy recognises the significant contribution made by individuals to the BGRA. Previous recipients include former BGRA convener Bryan Sanger and Sue Robinson, executive general manager of the NSW Urban Taskforce.

The award is named in honour of Warwick Shedden, one of the founding members of the Bulky Goods Retailers Association. He was the owner of OZ Design and passed away suddenly in 2001.

The BGRA is the peak national organisation representing the interests of bulky goods retailers in Australia. The Hon Justin Madden MLA, Victorian Minister for Planning, and Richard Pratt AC AO were guest speakers at the 2007 Melbourne Forum.
