SYDNEY: Wattle Grove resident, Melissa Smedley, has not only became engaged last week, but she also won $5,000 from Bing Lee following the latest monthly draw in the cash giveaway celebrating the Narta member’s 50th anniversary.
Already thrilled by the surprise proposal of marriage from her partner, Smedley was further gobsmacked when she received a call from Bing Lee head office letting her know she was the April winner of Bing Lee’s 50th Year Anniversary $5000 monthly cash give-away.
A regular visitor to Bing Lee Rhodes, Smedley said she was thrilled to have had such a lucky week.
“My partner and I entered the competition at the last minute when we were finalising our purchases at the counter,” she said.
“You never think you have a chance of winning when you enter these types of things. My partner and I are not quite sure yet what we will use the money for but with a wedding to plan I’m sure it will come in very handy in the near future!”
The couple’s daughter Emma is currently 18 months old and Smedley hopes she will be a part of the wedding.
“She’s already up and walking around at the moment so although we’re not sure where the wedding will be Emma will be our flower girl.”

The Bing Lee $50,000 Shopping Bonanza Competition runs until December 31, 2007. The next prize is drawn on 8 June and the winner will be announced on Bing Lee’s website www.binglee.com.au.
