SYDNEY: Haier Australia has announced it launch a detergent-free washing machine on to the local market as both a top loader and front loading machine.

Haier previewed its latest technological advancement at the Harvey Norman Expo in Melbourne last week.

Haier told Current.com.au it plans to work with the industry to launch the eco-friendly detergent-free washer in both front-load and top-load models, which are currently selling successfully in overseas markets.

The detergent-free products will be aimed at the premium end of the market and are expected to be released to be available from the first quarter of 2008.

Haier currently holds a world patent on the sophisticated technology used in manufacturing this range of detergent-free washing machines.

Further information concerning pricing and specifications will be released by Haier later this year.
