SYDNEY: Toshiba Information Systems Division (ISD) has reappointed Callum Eade as national channel sales manager after a six month absence in which he left the electrical industry to pursue his personal goal of becoming an ironman.
Eade left the company in October 2006 and was previously Toshiba’s New Zealand country manager – a role which he held for three and half years.
In his new role, Eade will be responsible for driving Toshiba ISD’s overall Australian channel business, managing the national channel sales team and sales centre, and working closely with the corporate sales team to service Toshiba’s business-to-business clients.
“With his experience in mobile computing and deep knowledge of Toshiba, Callum is an ideal person to lead our channel team in Australia,” said Toshiba ISD general manager, Mark Whittard.
“We are delighted to welcome him back to Toshiba and across the Tasman, and believe that his experience will further cement our channel relationships and position as market leader.”
Eade will also work closely with the man now working in his former role – Gary Wicks, the current country manager for New Zealand. The two will work towards developing consistent channel strategies across the two countries.
“After some time away pursuing my personal dreams, it is great to be back working with Toshiba again and taking on a new challenge in managing the channel in Australia,” said Eade.
“With Toshiba being 100 per cent committed to the channel, I have a meaningful and large task ahead of me in strengthening our relationships with customers and partners across the country.”
Toshiba ISD manages the Toshiba computer brand in Australia and recently acquired the distribution of the brand’s audiovisual products including LCD TVs, HD-DVD and DVD players.
