PERTH: The Retravision Western Group has expressed great sadness in the passing of Nick Gunellas – the proprietor of the Midland store who has died after a long illness.
Gunellas started the Midland Retravision franchise 19 years ago in August 1988 and then moved to a new 700 square metre store in August 1998. Gunellas became one of the more recent proprietors to adopt the large format ‘superstore’ layout by increasing this store to over 1,000 square metres in 2005 joining other large format businesses including O’Connor, Mandurah, Rockingham and Osborne Park.
Prior to joining Retravision, Gunellas had two Vox Adeon franchises and prior to this worked as a buyer for long-standing Retravision WA dealer – Thomsons.
Gunellas passed away during the recent 46th Retravision seminar which was held recently in Alice Springs.
“It is with great sadness that I report that Nick Gunellas long time shareholder of Retravision and owner of the Midland store has succumbed to his illness and has passed away,” Retravision WA business development manager, Bob Rogers said in a statement to suppliers.
“To all those who knew Nick he was a tireless worker and a great supporter of the brand over his years at Thomsons and when he created his own very successful dealership in Midland.
“Our hearts and thoughts go to Yvonne and Trina as well as Michael and John and all Nick’s faithful staff in their very sad loss,” Rogers said.
Retravision Midland was one of the stores which has participated in the Large Format Stores program within the Retravision Western business that has shown strong growth over the last year.
