SYDNEY: Lexmark yesterday revealed its 2007 printer product line at Centrepoint Tower in Sydney, with wireless capabilities and affordable price points at the heart of the new range.
“Wireless is the technology wave of the future and our new wireless printers will ensure that consumers can catch the wave easily, securely and affordably,” said Lexmark vice president and president – consumer printer division, Najib Bahous.
The new Lexmark printer range will feature a sleek new look direct from the design-house responsible for the iconic Apple iPod, and will include the hero X4550 All-in-One wireless inkjet printer (RRP $199) which features built-in wireless capabilities, USB, PictBridge and memory card slots, photo printing, copying and scanning, and print speeds of 26 black and18 colour pages per minute.
Also included in the new line-up will be the Z1420 wireless colour printer (RRP $149) and the X3550 colour All-in-One (RRP $129) as well as the entry-level X2550 colour All-in-One (RRP $89) and the Z1320 single-function colour inkjet (RRP $59) with optional wireless capabilities.
“Consumers are embracing wireless networking with the rapid adoption of wireless notebook computers and wireless routers. However, because of the high price of existing wireless printers and the complexity of use, consumers have been slow to adopt wireless printing,” said Bahous.
“We intend to change that with new wireless printers from Lexmark that are affordable, easy to install and easy to use.”
The full range will be compatible with both Macs and PCs, including those with Windows Vista, and will be available this month with the exception of the X4550, which is slated for a June release.
