MELBOURNE: Freshtel’s CEO, John Butkiewicz, has resigned for undisclosed reasons after only four months in the chair, to be replaced until further notice by the Freshtel director of corporate affairs, Peter Warner.

“The chairman of Freshtel, Mr Ken V. Loughnan AO, today announced that the Freshtel Board has accepted the resignation of John Butkiewicz who was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Freshtel in January 2007,” said a notice from Freshtel today.

According to the notice, Warner will act as CEO “in order to maintain the company’s strong focus and direction.

Michael Carew, Freshtel’s global business director and founder of the company will “continue to focus on securing the contracts with white label partners that will be integral to Freshtel’s growth,” said the document.

Freshtel is currently deciding on a successor to the CEO role.

“The Board has commenced discussions with potential candidates for the CEO role and expects to have an announcement shortly,” the notice said.

Both Warner and Carew were unavailable for comment today.
