SYDNEY: LG Electronics has announced that it will be an official sponsor of the world’s premiere film event, the 60th Cannes Film Festival, by offering a line-up of its full High Definition (HD) 1080i televisions throughout the festival.

As part of its sponsorship, LG will provide attendees with an opportunity to view the best international films on full HD 1080p resolution televisions during the 11 days of festivities running 16 to 27 May 2007.

LG will also be unveiling the nominated films on its full HD televisions, ranging from 26 to 47 inches, with the units located at different areas of the Palais de Festivals, capturing show-stopping footage and inspiring cinematography.

“As an official partner of the Cannes Film Festival, LG is honoured to help celebrate the best the film industry has to offer,” said LG Electronics Australia category marketing manager – audio/visual, Darren Goble.

“Through our range of TV products, LG is committed to enhancing the visual experience of viewers by displaying the outstanding work of acclaimed actors, directors and film makers.

“As an official sponsor of the Cannes Film Festival LG is reaffirming its global positioning as the leader in innovative technologies whilst also representing its premium style and design led approach,” he said.

The new range of LG Full HD Televisions will be available across Australia at the end of April 2007.
