BOTANY: A red Sunbeam body massager will hit stores shortly, as part of the brand’s expanded range of red products co-branded with the Heart Foundation.

A donation from the sale of each Therapeutics HeartThrob body massager (RRP $19.95) sold will go towards the Heart Foundation, in a bid to raise awareness of women with heart disease, according to Sunbeam marketing manager – personal care, Ann-Marie Weir.

“The ‘Go Red For Women’ campaign is all about raising awareness heart disease. Packaging for the HeartThrob is a clear pack so you can see the product inside – you can clearly see the cuddly red heart.” said Weir.

Sunbeam launched three red hair styling products for Christmas last year, including a dryer (RRP $99.95), a straightener (RRP $49.95) and a 2-in-1 straightener and curler (RRP $39.95), which “sold well,” according to Weir.

“We’ve been very happy with the sales of the products, which is why we wanted to expand the partnership,” she said.

The brand hopes to raise $150,000 all up in the 12 months from November last year.

Retailers won’t receive point-of-sale material, but information regarding the details of the partnership are also on the packaging, said Weir.

The Therapeutics HeartThrob VB2200R body massager features a heart-shaped design and washable cover. The pressure-activated pads are designed for all over body use to help soothe tired muscles any time of the day, according to Sunbeam.

Launching for Mother’s Day, the HeartThrob is designed for the gift-giving season or for those who want to pamper themselves.

Its vibrating feature is pressure-activated and it comes complete with batteries.
