SYDNEY: Laundry care specialist, Miele Australia, is introducing its 2007 Laundry Care Collection a month ahead of time due to successful sell-out of its previous laundry offering.

Three laundry care ranges are included in the 2007 collection – the W 1000/T 7000 series, the W 3000/T 8000 series and the W 4000/T 9000 series are all made in Germany but designed specifically for Australian households.

Miele retailers began selling the new products yesterday, although the Miele W 4466, T 9466, MedicWash (W 3845 WPS) and MedicDry (T 4805 C) will be held back for a May 1 release to facilitate sales.

Each of the series comprises washing machines with sleek, contemporary aesthetics complemented by matching dryers, and prices start at $1,499.

According to Miele product manager – laundry and floorcare, Thorsten Kissel, each washer includes an increased 6.5kg load capacity, which is specifically designed for the demands of the Australian market who often have large houses and families compared to other areas.

Miele’s new range features intelligent washing programmes that relate directly to the items being washed, for example, ‘Denim’, ‘Outerwear’ or ‘Shirts’ are easily found on the clear and concise controls designed to further simplify Miele’s laundry care products.

Each series features Miele’s patented HoneycombCare drum system, which created air bolsters in the dryers to cushion the tumbling laundry load to give gentle drying care.

Each washer also allows superior laundry care due to a water film that cushions the washing load to provide gentle laundering, according to Miele.

All washing machines in Miele’s 2007 laundry care collection have a minimum WELS water-efficiency rating of four stars and are built to last at least 20 years.

In response to Australian consumer demands, the new Miele washing machines have the option to shorten programme wash times to 45 minutes.

The flagship washer in the range is the W4466 WPS, which retails for $2,999. It includesthe brand’s patented HoneycombCare drum system, along with a range of wash-programs including Hygiene, Sportswear, Pillows and Curtains.

It boasts a 4.5-star WELS water efficiency rating and a four-star energy rating.
