SYDNEY: Sony Australia, the local subsidiary responsible for selling Sony branded consumer electronics including Bravia LCD televisions, has ended its association with its PR company – Stenmark Organisation after eight years.

In a joint statement issued on Friday, the two companies announced that the association would end on 30 June.

“Stenmark Organisation has been Sony Australia’s PR agency since 1999, and will continue to be the main point of contact for media until its contract ceases in June,” the statement said.

“During the eight-year period, Sony Australia has enjoyed great success with its public relations activities thanks to the dedication of the Stenmark Organisation.

“This decision does not impact on the Stenmark Organisation’s role in administering the Sony Foundation, and the Stenmark Organisation will also continue to be the sole provider of PR services to Sony Ericsson.”

Two former Stenmark Organisation employees – Ruben Lawrence and Kelly Finlay – are currently working in the publicity and marketing department at Sony Australia’s head office in North Ryde.

According to Finlay, Sony is currently “working out what is going to happen” after Stenmark’s stint finishes up at the end of next month.

“Stenmark is on board until 30 June, but as usual, if you can’t get in touch with them, contact me at Sony product PR or Ruben in corporate communications,” she said.
