CLEVELAND: Royal Appliance Manufacturing Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of new Hoover owners, Techtronic Industries, has announced that former Black & Decker managing director, Chris Gurreri, has been appointed as its president.

Based at Royal Appliance’s headquarters near Cleveland, Ohio, Gurreri will report to TTA Holding Company chief executive officer, Joseph Galli Jnr., and will be responsible for building the Royal Appliance business.

“Chris brings with him a wealth of strategic sales, marketing and supply chain management experience and we are pleased that he is joining our leadership team,” Galli Jnr told PRNewsWire.

“As we move quickly to grow our floor care operations both in the United States and abroad, we look forward to Chris’ positive impact on our operations and his ability to energise our business.”

Gurreri believes that the merging of Hoover and Royal Appliances will create a stronger market presence and increase the business’ competitive edge.

“Bringing Royal Appliances and Hoover together is a marketer’s dream,” he said.

“It’s going to give us a platform to launch a series of new products and build an R&D centre that will just knock your socks off.

“While our goal is to be number one in the markets we serve, consumers will continue to have a wide range of competitively-priced choices in vacuum cleaners and other floor care products.

“In fact, the ability to invest more substantially in research and development will result in more innovative product offerings in the future,” he said.
