SYDNEY: Matchmaster TV Reception Systems has raised a national recall notice on its L4690 plug-in TV signal amplifier which was sold in Australia from October 2006 and distributed through electrical retailers and wholesalers.

The company has reported that when any three-pin mains plug is inserted into the operating device it may cause an internal short circuit between the ‘active’ and ‘earth’ pins, which could potentially cause the external ‘F’ Type connectors to become ‘live’.

Matchmaster has advised any consumer who have purchased the 10MM-MA20F (L4690) TV signal amplifier to switch the unit off at the power point then remove the unit’s plug from the power point, ensuring no contact is made with any metal components.

Affected customers are advised to call contact Matchmaster on the toll-free 1800 237 425 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, to arrange for a full quality check and replacement if required.
