FORSTER: The BSR group will re-establish a retail presence in the New South Wales north coast town of Forster after a two-year absence with a new 1,450-square metre Betta Electrical superstore scheduled to open on April 5.

The Rezzie Betta Electrical superstore will be located in Forster’s Stockland Mall and marks the retailers return to the beachside town located halfway between Newcastle and Port Macquarie.

“BSR is obviously very excited to announce the opening of our newest Betta Electrical store and our return to Forster,” said BSR Group general manager, Ian Brown.

“We’re acutely aware of the important role we have to play in regional communities and we look forward to helping Rezzie Betta Electrical build a long and lasting relationship with Forster.”

Store-owner Gary Rezinkov is new to the BSR group but has 15 years experience in the retail industry, partly with Joyce Mayne.

“In country areas retailing is all about service and building a rapport with customers,” said Rezinkov.

“It’s great to have the opportunity to offer the Betta Electrical brand to Forster once again. I think people will respond well to the name.

“Under the BSR structure, my destiny as a store owner is in my hands. Strategy isn’t dictated by head office and, for me, it’s important to have control over my store if I want to grow the business.”

BSR has recently opened a new Chandlers store in Gladstone, Queensland, and a new Betta Electrical store in Campbelltown, New South Wales.

The BSR group was formed late last year when Betta Electrical and Chandlers retailers bought the company in the wake of the failure of the Betta Stores Limited franchise business.
