BRISBANE: Eurolec Australia general manager, Jon Onley, has left the Brisbane-based whitegoods supplier after eight months to pursue a corporate role, and will be replaced from within the company.

Onley joined Eurolec in May last year when the company won the rights to distribute the Stoves and Belling brands sourced through UK-based appliance manufacturer – Glen Dimplex.

Onley has previously worked in a National Projects role with Betta Electrical and prior to this was national marketing and merchandising manager with Origin Energy Shop – formerly Gasmart. Onley was also a past president of the Australian Retailers Association in Victoria.

Eurolec Australia managing director, Martin Shaw, told Current.com.au that the split has been without animosity.

“We have left on amicable terms and I wish Jon well as we are very good personal friends,” Shaw said.

Following the departure of Onley, Shaw has promoted Queensland state manager, Peter Roney, to national operations manager based at the company’s head office near Brisbane. Roney has worked with Eurolec Australia for the past eight years.

Shaw has also announced a new sales representative will join the company in Victoria reporting to state manager – Emlyn Toohey, who has been working with the business for eight months. They are also seeking a new sales representative for the NSW market.
