SYDNEY: Sunbeam has received over 12,500 entries to a competition which ran over the last four weeks to give away Innovo gas barbecues and a Beer Mate beer keg system, via television advertisements featured on Foxtel channels.
The Pay TV viewer promotion ran from Sunday 5 November to Saturday 2 December and provided consumers with the opportunity to win one of five Ultimate Party Packs featuring the GB5100 Innovo gas barbecue and Sunbeam Beer Mate.
According to Sunbeam category manager, Adam Tacey, the objective of the promotion was to increase awareness of Sunbeam in the barbecue market, showcase the product’s features and benefits, and engage viewers to interact with the television commercial.
To enter the competition, viewers were required to send an SMS (Short Message Service) message containing their name and the answer to the question – “What is your favourite beer to accompany a great BBQ?”
“The promotion ran for four weeks on Foxtel and with over 12,500 entries it far exceeded our expectations,” Tacey said.
The Sunbeam Innovo recently completed a second campaign of television advertising which was also featured on Foxtel channels including Fox 8 (The Simpsons, Prison Break & Fear Factor), Comedy Channel (South Park & Family Guy), Fox Sports (Fox Sports News), ESPN (ESPN SportsCenter & ESPN Global Sports), Channel V (Mxc & Steve Vs The Moronics) and Discovery Channel (Mythbusters & American Chopper).
The campaign which represented a six-figure dollar commitment, ran from Sunday 5 November through to Saturday 2 December and included two advertising executions (15 seconds and 30 seconds) featuring celebrity chef Geoff Jansz demonstrating the key selling features of the Innovo range – even cooking and thicker barbecue plates.
