SYDNEY: Australian VoIP service provider, MyNetFone Limited, announced this week that its paying subscriber numbers have reached over 20,000 customers, which is a 100 per cent increase since May this year.

Since May, when the company turned publicly listed, sign-ups for the MyNetFone service have reached a record high.

“[More customers are discovering] that with the MyNetFone service they can make huge savings on their phone bills thanks to 10 cents untimed local & national calls, fixed to mobile calls starting as low as 15 cents per minute and international calls starting from 2 cents per minute,” stated a press release from the company.

The MyNetFone V100LS package bundles Netcomm VoIP hardware with the MyNetFone VoIP service.

“The outstanding growth experienced by MyNetFone in the last six months is a direct result of our commitment to deliver superior voice quality at highly competitive market-leading rates," MyNetFone Ltd’s managing director, Andy Fung, said in the release.

“Since IPO in May, and consistent with our business plan, we have expanded our product offerings with a wide choice of customer gateways and handsets to meet the market demand for affordable, reliable convergent solutions.”

Fung said the result caps off a very good year for the company, and thanks MyNetFone’s 35 employees.

“[They] have achieved so much in such a short time. This result would not have been possible without their single-mindedness and dedication to making the MyNetFone brand synonymous with superior voice quality and excellent customer service.

“We expect to continue the momentum of growth in 2007 with MyNetFone well placed to maintain its position as a leading VoIP provider as the uptake of broadband services in Australia continues to accelerate.”
