BRISBANE: The receiver for Betta Stores Limited (BSL), Phil Carter, plans to sell the next asset from the former retail entity, the School Street head office, prior to Christmas, even though it is home to the new Betta Stores Retail (BSR) staff.

Carter told Current.com.au that BSR has a three-month agreement to rent the School Street premises which commenced on when Carter sold the Betta Electrical and Chandlers franchise business to the retal consortium.

“We are pretty happy with the progress that we are making,” Carter said.

“The next part of of the business for sale is the premises which are on the market. Expressions of interest close on 6 December,” he said.

Carter also confirmed that he is winding down the two BSL company-owned stores located at Berrima and Rothwell.

“We are undertaking the ame closure program that we put through Carnegie previously. We are running the stock down and we expect them to close my mid-December. We are happy to hear from those who would like to buy the stores, but we realise this is a less likely outcome.”
