QLD, West End: Today is the first official day of trading for Queensland-based Wow Sight & Sound’s ninth retail outlet, to be located in the state’s southern town of Mackay.

The store, located on the corner of the Bruce Highway and Heaths Road in Mackay, has been advertising a “grand opening sale” on its website and in catalogues, with discounted flatscreen televisions, laptop computers, navigation units, head-units, and other home theatre gear and accessories.

A Wow Sight & Sound floor staff member at the Mackay store described the store’s opening day to Current.com.au as “all hands on deck”.

Wow Sight & Sound directors, Sam Sabbas and Sotiris Sotiris, and General Manager – head office Con Nicolas, all attended the opening, according to the retailer’s head office in Queensland’s West End.

The new Mackay store joins already-established Wow Sight & Sound stores at Darwin, Townsville, Maroochydore, Rothwell, Kedron, Toowoomba, Annerley and Underwood. The chain has been trading for a short three years.

All stores specialise in cut-price electronics and home entertainment equipment. The company also offers custom installation services for car entertainment systems and home theatre set-ups, and the website (www.wowwicked.com.au) provides a Wow Mobile service for mobile phone ringtones and wallpaper downloads.
