SYDNEY: Sony Australia’s recently launched ‘aspire’ promotion has helped the brand to $9 million dollars in sales since the promotion kicked off last month, with Western Australian retailers currently leading the way.

“We have been blown away by the response to our ‘aspire’ promotion. The competition between the states is heating up, and the east versus west coast battle seems to be the one to watch,” said Sony Australia national sales manager, David Hargreaves in a statement today.

“The promotion is on track to help achieve significantly increased sales of the award winning Bravia and Bravia Theatre range, compared with the same period last year.”

While representing a mere 11 per cent of the registered users, salespeople in WA have four staff in the top 10 while New South Wales has two staff in the top 10.

NSW retailers currently boast the highest portion of participating salespeople, making up 39 per cent of total registrations, Queensland ranks second with 18 per cent and Victoria with 15 per cent.

The promotion, which runs until 24 December 2006, rewards sales of Bravia televisions, hi-fi systems, hi-fi components and DVR/DVD recorders – with additional points rewarded for sales including Bravia Theatre combinations.

The top 500 retail staff will receive prizes from Sony including Bravia 3LCD TVs.
