SYDNEY: LG Electronics is hoping to increase refrigerator sales by 10 per cent over the Christmas holiday period by repeating its ‘Fill It Up’ promotion – where purchasers of an LG side by side or French Door refrigerator receive a bonus fuel or grocery voucher.

“We will be hoping for a 10 per cent increase on sales over the promotional period,” LG Electronics category manager – major appliances and floorcare, Irena Stojceska, told current.com.au.

Bonus vouchers will range from $150 to $300 depending on the refrigerator purchased with consumers able to select either a Caltex fuel voucher or a Cole’s grocery voucher.

“With summer being the peak refrigerator season and petrol prices still quite high, we thought that it would be a good time to run a promotion such as this.

“It’s basically a way to give back to our customers and say thank you for purchasing an LG fridge. It’s been a popular promotion in the past so we thought we would bring it back.”

LG ran a similar promotion in 2005 with positive results, so the move to repeat the promotion and focus on increased sales seems a logical one.

“Last time we ran this promotion it resulted in a slight increase in refrigerator sales, so we would be hoping for a similar or better result this time round,” Stojceska said.

The promotion will run until 31 January 2007.
