SYDNEY: Sony Foundation Australia (SFA), the not-for-profit charity of the Sony group, will hold its eighth annual True Colours Ball at Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal tomorrow night, with the theme – ‘Silver Service’.
Long-time Sony Foundation supporter, Richard Wilkins, will MC the evening’s proceedings, with over 540 guests including several electrical retailing customers enjoying entertainment including Girlband and Human Nature.
“The True Colours Ball will mark the end of a fabulous year of fundraising for the Sony Foundation Australia, which has included various activities including Project Rainbow; SFA’s annual fundraising initiative supported by Harvey Norman, Domayne and Joyce Mayne,” said a spokesperson for Sony Australia.
This year the proceeds from the sale of Project Rainbow wristbands will be donated to the Sony Foundation Children’s Holiday Camps, which give high school students the opportunity to take time out from their school holidays to care for disabled children during four days of fun activities.
Additionally, the Sony Foundation Children’s Holiday Camps provide parents and carers of disabled children much needed time out.
The Project Rainbow wristbands will be available for purchase for $2 each at the Australian fixtures of the 2006 Tri-Nations Rugby League Test Series.
Now in its eighth year, the Sony Foundation True Colours Ball has raised more than $7 million in total for Australian youth-related charities. Previous recipients include Mission Australia, Youth Off The Streets, The Heart Foundation, The Australian Theatre for Young People and CanTeen.
The Sony Foundation is made of companies including Sony Australia Limited, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Sony Computer Entertainment, Sony Pictures Releasing Television and Home Entertainment, Sony Ericsson and Sony DADC.
