SYDNEY: Sony has unveiled a range of touch screen digital still cameras under the Cyber-shot banner which feature 3-inch LCD touch screens and Clear Photo LCD Plus technology.

“Improving the photography experience through innovative features incorporated into Cyber-shot cameras is what Sony strives for,” said Sony Australia senior product manager, Marcus Cornish.

“The new Touch Screen T50 and N2 cameras accomplish this by simplifying digital still camera functionality and providing a wider range of photography and on-camera options.”

The Cyber-shot DSCT50 (RRP $699) is the premium product in the Cyber-shot T Series range and features a 7.2 megapixel Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar Lens with three times optical zoom and Super SteadyShot incorporating the use of an optical image stabiliser to detect and correct sudden vibrations.

Through the touch screen LCD, users can edit their photos using the supplied Paint Pen to stamp, draw, paint or write on each photo. Available in red, black and silver, the T50 comes supplied with 58MB internal memory.

The DSCN2 (RRP $749) comes equipped with a 10.1 megapixel lens with three times optical zoom, 64MB on-board storage capacity and Paint Pen feature.

Both cameras are able to capture mpeg movie VX Fine video for TV quality playback and feature a slideshow option which allows photo viewing accompanied by varied music soundtracks.
