MELBOURNE: Miele Australia has announced three new appointments to the company’s senior management team including Cliff Thompson as the new national marketing manager in a move that will see him move from Sydney to the company’s head office at Knoxfield in Melbourne.

Effective immediately, Thompson, who has 22 years experience with Miele Australia, will take up the newly created position after eight years as New South Wales branch manager . 

Thompson will be responsible for broadening product distribution across all retail sectors while also delivering the brand, advertising and product strategies to continue Miele’s growth and report to Miele Australia managing director, Michael Jeanes.

Also announced is the appointment of Steven Bellamy as general manager of customer service and logistics. Bellamy will be responsible for the management of the national internal sales team and all national warehousing and logistics personnel.

Bellamy joins Miele from Gillette.

The final additional to the Miele Australia senior management team is Russell Decent, who has been recruited as financial controller.

Decent comes from a key role with publishing company Thomson Legal and Regulatory in London and Sydney and will provide support for the financial infrastructure and implementing the controls and strategies necessary to meet the company’s growth projections.

“I am confident that these additions to the management team, together with the talent among its members, will most effectively assist us accomplish our ambitions to grow the Miele Australia business to $300 million by 2010,” said Jeanes.
