SYDNEY: Teac Australia is marketing its two new, 15- and 19-inch LCD TVs with integrated DVD players and AC/DC connections, at the boat and caravan market.

“The 15-inch TEAC LCDV1501M is 240V AC while the 19-inch TEAC LCDV1901M is AC/DC compatible, ideal to use in caravans and boats or anywhere a 12V power supply is available,” a TEAC press release said yesterday.

Both models include a built-in, side-loading DVD player that allows discs to slot seamlessly into the fascia, eliminating the need for an external DVD player and messy connection cables. Buttons are located out-of-sight along the side, but the included remote can also be used.

Both models — 15-inch LCDV1501M (RRP $699) and 19-inch LCDV1901M (RRP $899) – feature screens with quick response times and Farouja DCDI (Directional Correlation Deinterlacing, designed to eliminate jagged edges along vertical lines during fast action playback), according to TEAC.

The LCD brightness is rated at 300cd/m2 and contrast ratio is 500:1.

USB drives can be directly slotted into the TVs, as well as MMC, MS and SD memory cards for playing stored MP3s through the in-built speaker and JPEG image-slideshows on the LCD. Both models are also DivX-enabled for viewing internet video downloads.

Both models come with a 12-month warranty and are available from all leading retailers Australia-wide.
