STOCKHOLM: Less than two weeks after visiting Australian retailers and announcing the imminent launch into the local small appliance industry, Electrolux global head of small appliances Magnus Yngen has been appointed as the head of the company’s major appliances division in Europe.

In a statement issued by the company, Yngen will replace Johan Bygge – the current head of Electrolux Major Appliances Europe and Asia Pacific, who will now focus on his role s head of Major Appliances Asia Pacific.

"Following a transition period Mr. Bygge will leave Electrolux to pursue opportunities outside the company," the statement said.

“As it is still early days, we have been advised that no appointment has yet been made for a replacement to Magnus’ position as head of Floor Care and Small Appliances,” said Electrolux Floor Care and Small Appliances Australia managing director, John Mahar, who hosted Yngen on his recent visit.

"We have been advised that no appointment has yet been made for a replacement to Magnus’ position as head of Floor Care and Small Appliances," Mahar told Current.com.au.

"We have also been advised that a replacement appointment will be made in the near future and that the current sector and regional structure for Floor Care and Small Appliances worldwide will remain as it is today.

"Electrolux Floor Care Australia is delighted for Magnus and we wish him all the very best in his new major appliances role in Europe. Magnus has been instrumental in turning Floor Care around in recent years where, now globally, the Floor Care sector is experiencing strong sales and market share growth with its thoughtfully designed innovative products."

During his visit, Yngen presented Narta member Bing Lee with an award recognising their growth with the floorcare brand.
