MELBOURNE: Reference AV has been granted the exclusive Australian rights to distribute four international high-end audio and home theatre brands.

Amphion Loudspeakers (South Africa), Vivid Audio surround sound systems (Finland), Esoteric amplifiers (Japan) and Grand Prix Audio Monaco turntables (USA) will now join the Park Orchards-based wholesale distribution company’s existing product portfolio, which includes audiophile-grade loudspeakers and home entertainment-gear manufacturers Audio Valve, Verity Audio and Halcro.

“We have exclusive distribution agreements for almost all of the brands we carry throughout Australia and New Zealand," said Reference AV sales and logistics manager, Michael Marchant.

“We evaluate products on their performance and choose brands based on products that succeed our expectations, and also those we feel comfortable dealing with in regards to the people behind the companies.

“We like to think we have a personal relationship with the people behind the brands. If we don’t feel comfortable dealing with these people then we won’t take on their products.

“Getting to know the people behind the brands, we feel, is very important to the success of the company.”

Reference AV distributes to mainly VIC retail outlets, including A1 Audio, Frankston HiFi and Livingstone Audio, but Simply HiFi in WA, Pymble HiFi and Len Wallis Audio in NSW, AV Domain in QLD and Challenge HiFi in SA are included, amongst others. Reference AV also ships to Sublime Audio in NZ.
