CLAREMONT: Claremont Betta Electrical proprietor, Jason Sawkins, will leave the BSL group to join Harvey Norman and will hand over control of his Claremont store in Western Australia to new proprietors tomorrow.

Geoff and Peta Zonnervold, who are new to the Betta Electrical group, will assume full control of Claremont Betta Electrical tomorrow as Sawkins completes his withdrawal from the BSL group.

Last month Sawkins sold his Joondalup Betta Electrical & Gas store, which he bought from Clive and Judy Berryman in January 2006.

While the Joondalup business was short-lived, Sawkins’ Claremont store has been a longterm venture.

“Claremont has been a good business and it is continuing to grow, but I have been there five years and it is time for a new challenge,” Sawkins told current.com.au this afternoon.

Sawkins said he will join Harvey Norman as a store proprietor in the electrical division, but at this stage he was not able to confirm a location.

“With Harvey Norman, there is an opportunity for me to take on a larger store and to move around in different areas – interstate or even overseas,” he said.
