BRISBANE: Betta Stores Limited (BSL) today announced it will add another three Superstores to the group as part of its revitalisation program which the group’s management has promised will deliver an additional 12 new Superstores by May 2007.

The outlets set to join the Superstore program will be the Bundberg, Maroochydore and Mackay stores, which will boost the group’s current number of Superstores to nine, with a view to securing 18 Superstores in total.

“That’s three Superstores down and I can say we’re well on track to delivering the remaining nine as promised,” said BSL chief executive officer, Guy Houghton.

“The Superstores are increasingly becoming a crucial cog in the BSL group and I’m delighted with the way the program is proceeding. We’re constantly receiving expressions of interest from our leading retailers in upgrading to Superstores,” Houghton said.

Everard Johnson, co-owner of the three new Superstores with business partner Ian Murden, stated that customers had embraced the Superstore concept and expects the new stores to perform similarly to his existing Superstores at Aspley in Brisbane and Morayfield north of Brisbane.

“I doubt we could have forged such a strong presence in Brisbane without the support, fit-out and access to quality and up-market brands that BSL provides.

“I believe the Superstores are the way of the future – the market is telling us they love the Superstores and our trading results back that up,” said Johnson.

According to BSL, the three new Superstores will, as part of the group’s revitalisation program and on-going promotional campaigns, help continue the increase in national sales seen since the programs inception.
