SYDNEY: Sony is seeking to raise consumer awareness of the benefits of Blu-ray Disc technology and its Vaio notebook range at the Sydney domestic airport terminal through a product showcase in the Qantas Club Lounge.

Throughout September from 7am to 10am and 3pm to 7pm each weekday, Sony representatives will be available to demonstrate and explain the advantages of its Vaio notebook technologies, focussing particularly on the Vaio AR18 featuring a Blu-ray drive and the ultra-portable Vaio UX17.

Sony hopes the product showcase, which has been timed to cooincide with the peak interstate business travel period each day, will educate consumers and encourage them to seek out Vaio retailers.

“Consumers who then interact on the stand are provided with information on the lineup and details on store locations where these models are available for purchase. The aim is to drive these consumers instore and help them to make an informed choice aout their Vaio notebook purchase,” said a Sony Australia spokerperson.

A Sony Australia spokesperson said travelers in the Club Lounge are being encouraged to interact with the stand through a competition which could see them win a UX17 notebook.

Other Vaio products on display will include the TX37, FE28 and FJ78 notebooks.
