SYDNEY: Housewares International (HWI) has beaten every other supplier to win the 2006 Supplier of the Year to the Retravision Victoria and Tasmania group.

According to HWI national account manager, Brian Taylor, the award is particularly significant as unlike other state based buying groups who recognise achievement in different product categories, there is only one winner of the Supplier of the Year award.

“Our team, led by Gary Lawrence, beat every other supplier in the industry, including Sony, Panasonic, Electrolux, F&P, as well as the other small appliance suppliers,” Taylor said in a statement.

“This is a great recognition of the hard work that Gary and his team put in, and how it is valued by the group; but it is only possible when their great work is backed up by everyone doing their bit – from the sales support and marketing teams, to order dept in the CCC and Melbourne, to stock dispatch from the warehouse, through to the returns and accounts department,” Taylor said.

Earlier this year Housewares International was also voted by a national cross section of retailers from Narta, Harvey Norman, Betta Electrical and Retravision groups earlier this year to win the inaugural Electrical Retailing Award (ERA) for best small appliance supplier.
